Sams founded the paper in 2004 as an extension of his career in wildlife and news photography. Sams partnered with his friend Craig Nyhus, a former lawyer and avid bird hunter, in 2006, making Nyhus the paper’s executive editor and publisher. Lone Star Outdoor News provides subscriptions for customer convenience and also offers our publication free of charge at numerous locations and online. This unique hybrid approach gives each customer the freedom to obtain the newspaper in the most convenient way possible.
