A SIM card, also known as an Subscriber Identity Module, is a physical smart card placed in your device that stores identification information that pinpoints a smartphone to a specific mobile network. Newer smartphones now have the capability to use an eSIM. eSIM stands for Embedded Subscriber Identity Module. This means the SIM is already on the phone when you get it. So, forget popping out the SIM tray and fumbling with that tiny SIM card.
The most significant advantage of eSIM is that it is easier to switch carriers because you can activate your service immediately after checkout without waiting for a physical SIM to be shipped.
Some smartphones can use 2 SIMs – one physical SIM inserted into the SIM tray and the other, eSIM (Embedded SIM), downloaded to the device itself. Dual SIMs allow you to merge two phone lines into one device. For example, if your device has dual SIM capabilities (both physical SIM and eSIM can work simultaneously in one device), this will allow both your phone numbers to work on the same device!
Currently, there are multiple iPhones and Android devices compatible with eSIM.
iPhone: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, and later iPhone models are eSIM enabled and compatible.
Android: Samsung Galaxy S22 5G, Galaxy S22+ 5G, Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Google Pixel 4a and later Pixel models are eSIM enabled and compatible with Patriot Mobile.
