BBQ Competition – Patriot Mobile Sponsors & Competes in Border Patrol BBQ Cookoff

Patriot Mobile proudly sponsored and competed in the 99th Texas Border Patrol BBQ Cookoff in Eagle Pass, Texas on May 19-20. This competition raised funds to provide scholarships and other financial support to border patrol families who have lost loved ones while protecting our Texas border over the past two years.

The Border Patrol BBQ Cookoff drew over fifty teams that competed to win a $15,000 grand prize. The Patriot Mobile team joined the competition, led by our own pitmaster, Chris Waddell, Patriot Mobile’s Chief Information Officer. The teams competed in several categories, including brisket, pork spare ribs, chicken, beans, and margaritas. The Patriot Mobile team placed tenth for ribs, twelfth for brisket, and eleventh in the overall competition!

“It was an honor sponsoring and competing in the 99th Border Patrol Birthday BBQ Competition,” said Chris Waddell. “Having the opportunity to celebrate and support the men and women that keep us safe, and are true Patriots that love America, is what we love doing at Patriot Mobile!”

Despite intermittent rain, the two-day festivities drew around 400 people, including families, children, law enforcement, and border patrol agents. The attendees enjoyed an auction, raffle, and live music throughout the weekend.

After the BBQ Cookoff was complete, Patriot Mobile delivered donated food to on-duty Border Patrol officers around Eagle Pass to enjoy for lunch. We loved meeting our heroic officers who put their lives on the line every day to protect our border communities.

Patriot Mobile is honored to support our border patrol and law enforcement at the Texas Southern border. This was our fourth trip to the border as a company. On previous trips, we brought much-needed supplies, provided aid to law enforcement, and sponsored a ministry event to bring hope to our law enforcement and the local residents who have suffered firsthand the ill effects of the Biden administration’s open border policies.

Patriot Mobile thanks the organizers of this wonderful event and all the attendees who showed up to support our border patrol agents and families in Eagle Pass. We look forward to returning for the next event!
